How to Help
Vulcan Regional Food Bank Society’s goal for this year is to raise $35,000 and this amount raised will be going directly towards feeding families and communities in Vulcan and the surrounding area. It will cost our organization approximately $2500 to raise this amount, to be used towards staffing hours, advertising, fundraising events, and volunteer supervision in pursuit of our fundraising goal. Our address is 105B 3rd Avenue S, Vulcan, AB, T0L 2B0, and we are incorporated in Vulcan. Donations are accepted year round
E-Transfers, automatic monthly donation withdrawals from ATB, bequeaths, planned giving, corporate and individual donations are very much appreciated. E-transfer can be made to director@vulcanandregionfcss.com (auto deposit is enabled). Cash and cheques are accepted in our office at 105B – 3rd Ave. S, Vulcan or by mail at Box 594 Vulcan, AB T0L 2B0. Tax receipts are mailed out for monetary donations.
Items we CAN accept:
- Non-perishable items are accepted – please check the Best Before Dates before donating
- Specialty items such as Gluten-free and diabetic items
- Fresh, clean garden vegetables
- Meat and Eggs from a Federally Inspected facility. Please call before donating these items.
Items we CANNOT accept:
- Homemade preserves or baking.
- Used furniture and clothing
- Homemade toiletries or bathing items
- Open perishables/toiletries
We appreciate all donations and thank our very generous community for all the ways you support the people in our community through the Food Bank.
Items for Christmas Hampers and Adopt-a-Family are collected at the Food Bank.
Volunteer with us

Volunteers work at the Food Bank packing hampers, dividing bulk food, cleaning and wrapping Christmas presents. We occasionally need courtesy drivers and event volunteers. Groups can volunteer to check dates and help unpack after Food Drives. Volunteers are required to supply a current Criminal Record Check and sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
