Homelessness Project

The Vulcan Regional Food Bank Society was awarded $334,025 over a five year period from September 2014 to March 2019.  This project will meet the needs of Vulcan County’s homeless population with short-term emergency shelter and food, financial support for stable living arrangements, and connection to safe permanent housing.  The majority of the funding is utilized for long-term solutions for our at-risk of homelessness adults, families, and youth in an effort to improve their financial situations, physical and mental health, and provide opportunities for them to realize their future goals.  One such initiative is the Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World, a resource building program for adults.
