Need Food?

Food hampers are available year round, the number of hampers available per household depends on supply. The Food Bank relies entirely on donations and grants. Fresh food is included in hampers if it is available.

Requests for Hampers should be made at least one working day ahead of pick-up.  Same day hampers need to be in by 11am.

Please be prepared to provide the following information:

• Names of everyone in the household
• Date of birth for all children
• Address and driver’s license
• Proof of residence (i.e., copy of bill or rent/lease agreement with your name and address)
• Type and amounts of family income from all sources

Christmas Hampers are available as well as Adopt-a-Family / Angel Tree Gifts that go out with hampers.  Christmas Hampers need to be requested at least one week before pick-up if gifts are to be included.  We strongly encourage requests to be made in November for pick-up in December.

After Hours Emergency Hampers are available at the Vulcan Health Centre (Hospital) if someone is experiencing a food emergency outside of Food Bank hours.   

A Give-and-Take Pantry is located outside the Vulcan Municipal Library at 303 Centre Street.  It is a re-purposed Little Library and contains dry goods to help anyone who is hungry. Please only take what you need.
